High Fiving Fun

I high fived a US customs agent today at Chicago O'Hare.

She was cool black woman that yelled at everyone in a non-offensive way to hurry up and get their laptops out of their bags and their shoes off.  She helped me with my laptop as I gathered my stuff after making it through the scanner without any beeps.  Overwhelmed with a feeling of relief I held up my hand and without hesitation she slapped it.

Awesome.

I've high fived Starbucks employees in the past, they're a semi-regular occurance in the grocery store and I once double high fived a customer service representative at Canadian Tire (she deserved it), but I feel as though hand slapping a US customs official has just taken it to another level.

It made my day and judging from the smile on her face I'm pretty sure it made hers too.

the high five is the most underrated universal form of affirmation. that tool is definitely on my belt. it's good fun for all, especially those who receive it from those in authority...and of the opposite gender...
