blue stencil

San Francisco 2007

I had a break from work and started wandering the streets rather aimlessly.  My thoughts were preoccupied with life and its troubles and I walked over a flash of colour on the paving stone.  I got about 5 steps past before I decided to turn back.

I'm glad I did.

There it was, stenciled in blue in front of a nondescript apartment building.  I stood and looked at it and took a picture and walked on. And despite seeing some great things that day, despite experiencing a cool new city, my thoughts kept returning to that sign on the pavement.

Two years later I wonder if the sign is still there.  I wouldn't be able to tell you where it was if my life depended on it, the road names have been lost in the haze of time gone by.  The sentiment however hasn't been lost, in fact if anything its burned itself into my brain.

Sometimes your blog posts are exactly what I need to see or hear! Thanks!

I agree with Kirsten, that totally hit the spot for what I needed to see today. Kind of feels like the story of my life.
