does that make me the lion?

Ever watched Animal Planet or The Discovery Channel when they do a show on Africa?

Of course you have, everyone has seen at least one lion chase, that one where two or three giant cats chase a small deer across the plain, take it down and then methodically rip its flesh from its bones.

Ever completely destroyed a relationship? Maybe one you sort of wanted to keep but almost without realizing did a bunch of stupid things that you should have known would have affected it? You should have known better, you should have thought through things.

Thing is that deer still has a chance until the lioness has its windpipe between her teeth. Once the deer has been silenced and the lions begin ripping back its flesh its to late. Even if you stopped the carnage and tried to gather the pieces the damage had already been done. That living, breathing organism has been silenced.

I tried to gather the pieces. I tried to place each strip back where it once was and once i finished I think i expected that deer to get up and start walking again.

Only it didn't

And probably never will.
